Alexandra Maria Lara is a Romanian-German film and television actress most well-known for her roles in films such as Downfall Youth Without Youth Control and Rush. Alexandra was the only daughter of Romanian actor Valentin Platareu. When she was 16she already landed several television roles, including the lead role in the film Downfall Youth without Youth Control. Her critically acclaimed performance in the television film Der Tunnel paved way for many other noteworthy roles, including that of Adolf Hitler's secretary Traudl Junge, in the critically and commercially profitable Oscar nominated historical war drama film Downfall. The Reader is another Oscar nominated film featuring this divas. Alexandra is engaged in numerous noteworthy projects, both in the United States as well as internationally. These comprise British biographical film Control as well as The Dust of Time as along with the French historic miniseries Napoleon. Also, she was on the jury of the Transylvania International Film Festival, and at Cannes Film Festival.
